Revised review. After posting about an issue, we were contacted by the owner to address our concerns and the problem we noted. This immediate and helpful response has reassured me that the problem I experienced was an unusual event, and not likely indicative of how customers will be treated. As a result I look forward to continuing to enjoy Hella’s. You should too.

Very good food and service on the many visits over the years! The Baklava is out of this world! Keep up the good work!

So good.. Food is excellent, service attentive, atmosphere was warm and inviting. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to have dolmades as part of the vegetarian combo platter – usually I have to choose between dolmades and everything else.

Hellas was very good. The couple times we’ve been the place has been slow so we were given great service (the owner even came out and talked to us). The food has been great and we’ve always taken home doggy bags. Our first time there we were given free baklava 🙂 yummy! We’ll be back that’s for sure!!

Exceptional. Friends took me to this family owned restaurant when I was in town and found the food very satisfying altought a bit pricy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were well attended to. The starter fresh Pita bread was very tasty. Restaurant was exceptionally clean.

What the Hella??. A group of 7 coworkers went on a Friday at 11:45. After being seated, when the waitress came over she asked if it was one check. When we said ‘separate checks please’ she made a disgusted look and said OH! We placed our drink orders, none of which she wrote down, and not surprisingly she got 2 of the 7 drinks wrong. It took longer than expected for her to return and ask if we were ready to order. When we had questions about the menu, she made another face, sighed, and seemed inconvenienced to answer. Finally, when we began placing our orders she stopped us midstream to pick up and deliver other customers’ orders to their tables, not once but twice including a table side flaming cheese! The food was maybe average. The Roasted Red Pepper Hummus was grainy and lacked seasoning as did the Greek potatoes. However, the Greek style green beans were pretty good. When we were almost done, we asked for the checks. We noticed she was at the hostess stand, adding up the check totals with a calculator. It took a good 10-15 minutes to get the checks and by this time we were running late. Luckily, one of my coworkers noticed that the gratuity had already been added in which was unfortunate because as someone who typically tips more than 20%, I would have given her 10% or less because that is the level of service she provided. It took about an hour and 15 minutes, beginning to end. (There was another table next to us that stood at their table with their coats on, waiting for the same waitress to take their checks.)It’s called Customer Service not Customer Inconvenience so if your customers are an inconvenience to you, maybe you should look for a new line of work. And if the wait staff is that busy maybe you need to add another wait person or host/hostess to your lunch shift to help out. Needless to say, I will not be back nor will I recommend Hellas to anyone else.

Kids Night is a Hit. My sons beg to go to Hellas on Tuesday for kids night. They love the gyro with applesauce as the side. The big draw is the magician. On other weeks, they have a clown that does face painting and balloon creations. In either case, they eat a good dinner and are well behaved while there.
