Wow…… I had heard good reviews about Late Harvest but never got around to trying it until tonight….now I see what I’ve been missing!! The cocktails, crabby fries, Corvin, and the toffee pudding…were AMAZING….and ask for the bread-it too was wonderful! The outside seating is superb!!! Go-go-go!!!
If you like Creative and Unique Cuisine, then this is your place! Oh, did I mention the food is Fantastic! Even though they are located in a strip mall, the location is beautiful. I will say though, they could get better chairs. They seem cheep and are quite uncomfortable for such a nice setting. The first chair I had was wobbly. They were happy to replace it but even the second one seemed unsteady. But this is a minimal issue and I quickly got over it when the food came. The first time I went, I had Ribeye and Potatoes Minneapolis. I don’t usually have Steak when I dine out, because it’s hard to get a quality one that’s cooked correctly, but I was not disappointed with this decision and had no issue with the cost when dinner was over. The potatoes were pan fried shoestring potatoes with sour cream and bacon. Not that unique but very tasty. If you order them, bring a friend because they are huge. The second time, I had Fried Oyster with sauce Louis (shared with the table), Rabbit Biscuits & Gravy and a side of Fried Green Tomatoes with Crab Remoulade. All of it was cook well and tasted great. Both times the staff was Professional and Courteous. I recommend you go but check the menu before hand as it changes regularly and make reservations. Yes, it is a little pricy but well worth it. Their prices do range from medium to high but if you add a couple of drinks in, you’re going to average $30-$50 per person. It’s well worth it. If you’re looking upscale food without pretension, then this is the place for you. Enjoy, I have and look forward to the next time I can go.
My Favorite Place. Such a unique concept, and different from everything else around. Their staff does an excellent job working together and making everyone feel like the family run operation that it truly is. My drinks from Jason were unique and so tasty I couldn’t quit ordering more. We started with the brandade as recommended and although I was hesitant to try it, I am glad I did! I had the Halibut for dinner and my guest enjoyed the whole fish, both spectacular! We accompanied them with jalapeo fries and famous potatoes Minneapolis (as good as it looked when I saw it in the paper!). We were too full for dessert but our server told us their sticky toffee pudding was so good it was shameful, boy was he right! I left there so full and already looking forward to my next visit back!
Our Valentines day dinner at LHK was delish. I’d pass on the lobster bisque next time because it was too salty and had no lobster meat in it but the wedge salad was awesome and the lobster Newburg entree was amazing. This was definitely the best dish we’ve had at LHK! Of course we ended the dinner with sticky toffee pudding 🙂 that’s a no brainier. We’ll be back soon.
Boring unseasoned food. We dined at Late Harvest Kitchen on Saturday evening and the only recommendation I have is to cancel your reservation and dine elsewhere. The best part of the meal was the skate, coated in buffalo sauce, which was served as a starter. I ordered the mahi mahi and it would have been better with some seasoning. My husband ordered the chicken which was dry. We shared sides of cauliflower and fries. The fries were good, but the cauliflower needed seasoning. Looking for a salt and pepper shaker on the table? Apparently the chef doesn’t want you to season the food either.
This was my third attempt to like this reataurant. If the kitchen spent 1/4 the time on seasoning that the waiter spent on describing the food it might be better. The concept (locally sourced, seasonal) exceeds the execution here by leaps and bounds. Roasted vegetables lacked any distinguishing flavor. Ravioli lacked cohesiveness. Hazelnut cake: tough, flavorless and essentially inedible. For a $70 meal extremely disappointing. Why is everyone so fooled by this restaurant? And the napkins shed all over our clothes. Really.
Best Sticky Toffee Pudding I’ve ever had. Rest of dinner was pretty darn great too.
