Disappointed. The sandwich was cold and tasted nothing like a gyro sandwich. The meat was tough and dry. And I never had a gyro with goat cheese in it. Last but not least,it rolled up like a burrito. Oh! It had lettuce in it!!
Very relaxed environment. Best place to enjoy an amazing gyro sandwich or anything else on the menu. Try it once and you’ll be hooked. It’s just that good.
Give it a chance!. I moved to Houston about three years ago, the capital of food diversity, and one of the things I miss about Indianapolis are the gyros from Taza Cafe. I have tried tons of places here in Houston, the best of the best Mediterranean places, and have yet to find gyros like the ones at Taza Cafe! Definitely a place I make a point of stopping by when I visit.
Awesome gyro sandwich. Just awesome. Actually all their food is great, best Mediterranean and Greek food I’ve had ever that wasn’t home home cooked.
Best gyro sandwich I have EVER had. Hands down.
HAD to post. I ate at the gyro joint last night. it was TERRIBLE. I love Sams gyros and the Parthenon, they have spicy gyros that are FANTASTIC. I asked for a spicy gyro and he proceeded to put on an asian hot sauce. the meat was very thick and had holes in it from the end pieces. I had to take it back!! And the service was NOT good.
Great Gyro and Friendly Atmosphere. Original Gyro Joint in Broad Ripple is a real winner. When I moved to Indianapolis 2 years ago, this restaurant was a tiny takeout place with room for no more than 5 people. Since then, it has expanded to include a dining room to the side of it. I make an effort to find the best gyro in every city I visit, and so far this is the best I’ve found here, or anywhere for that matter. The meat is perfectly seasoned, the tzatziki sauce is cool and refreshing, and the owner/operator is a colorful character who can often be found sitting in the dining room watching football with a friend until someone comes in for food. They stay open very late from Thursday thru Saturday, and it makes for very good after-bar food. If you love gyro’s and other Mediterranean food, Original Gyro Joint in Broad Ripple is an absolute must.
