My wife and I met friends here for lunch yesterday. We were able to find a table easily, the prices were cheap, and our food was good. I had the tenderloin; which, though not the best in Broad Ripple, was a pretty decent tenderloin. My sweet potato fries were so so, but my wife’s regular fries were excellent and she enjoyed her grilled cheese (which could be made with any cheese combo they had available). The onion rings were also pretty good, but a little on the greasy side.
Don’t Bother. Went to Plump’s yesterday, but due to rain there was not patio seating. We were seated inside where it was very hot and humid with the music blaring. This was at 2:00 pm. We left. Today we gave it another shot. I wish we hadn’t. There was one other customer there and the service was super slow. The only beer on tap was PBR ( yuck). I ordered the famous tenderloin. It was awful. Even my 9 year old son, unprompted, complained about it. The burger was over cooked (why ask how you want a burger prepared if you can’t prepare it that way) and it was crazy salty, the fries were even more salty. The food took 30 minutes and we were told it was taking so long because of my wife’s blacked grouper, ha. The bathroom was disgusting and people were smoking near us at a non smoking restaurant. The whole experience was really bush league. I don’t know how this place stays in business.
Will Never Go Back. The food was mediocre at best. While our waitress was quite pleasant, a man I assume was the owner (referring to the place as HIS) was exceptionally rude. Their patio was empty and the one next door was packed….should have told me something right there. My advice, skip this one unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience instead of a paying (too much by the way) customer.
Slow service bad food point
Really good food. Authentic Indiana feel to it. Very friendly staff. What’s not to like?!
Dog friendly! Bring your dog on a nice day and the service staff make sure they get plenty of water and treats 🙂 our dogs love it!
Good place in summer to take your dog out for dinner. Go for the beer, not the food.
