Hole in the wall, pastries done right. Nice cats roaming around.
Delectable.. The croissants are flaky, buttery, and beautifully fresh. The flourless chocolate cake is smooth, just the right balance of intensely chocolatey and creamy. It is my new birthday tradition to get a slice and eat it….slowly. It is a tiny, unassuming place, that reminds me of my dream ‘club house’ that I drew as a kid. Little, blue, and filled with baked goods. It’s is perfect place to take a sweetheart, or a best friend who needs a little extra love, and I look forward to making my way through trying every one of the items there, as quickly as my wallet and waistline will allow.
The best ever. Rene’s is the standard against which all pastry should be measures. They have ruined all other pastry shops for me as no one else measures up to the flavorful, rich creations with the perfect textures.
Walking around Broad Ripple, looking for a good canolli, found Rene’s. No canollis, so we tried 3 different pastries. All good, but the fruit tart was the best thing I’ve ever eaten! You have to try Rene’s, Indy’s best by far!!
Bakery Love. This is the sweetest little spot in Broadripple…the best bread and sweets.
Yummy. Stopped by on Saturday morning and had the best strawberry danish-y thing in the whole world! Now I want one every day 🙂
Quite frankly, amazing.. Big city gourmet quality pastries, cakes and breads literally made in a garage in our quaint little big city. rene’s, more than any other establishment in indianapolis, blows me away with the artistry and flavor of the goods. their individual sized pastries are always mind-numbingly good (the lemon merangue and flourless chocolate cake are perfect), their breads are fluffy, while still being hearty (how does he do it!) and the cakes are amazing and beautiful (we had our wedding cake done by rene, and it blew everyone away). rene is an expert and his staff is ludicrously talented as well. highly recommended. also, catch them at the indy winter farmer’s market.
