Very good hot and sour soup, Dan Dan noodles, and sesame chicken. Not a great atmosphere, more of a take out place. Although, their menu is far better than a typical take out menu.
Wow. I can’t even explain how bad the food was. The Sesame Chicken had a horrible aftertaste like it hadn’t been fully cooked. The Chow Mein was a wet, slimy mess. The Crab Rangoon tasted like handsoap. It was so bad that we took one bite of each dish, threw it all away and ordered the same meal from the restaurant down the street.
Not pleased!. I read many reviews for this restaurant from Yelp and most thought the food was excellent, however, I assume that they are just use to lousy food so they did not know any better. Real connoisseurs of good cuisine need not to waist their time or money. I do not recommend Sesame Chinese Restaurant to anyone and I have a lot of friends who value and trust my reviews.
Some of my favorite Chinese on the Northside. When you walk in, it looks like a basic cmall chinese place. THe menu has all of the normal items…nut you need to ask about some of the specialties to make a difference in you meal. For example, the DanDan noodle have a fabulous flavor for a simple appetizer, the Szechuan stricng beans are zippy and fresh.. One of my favorites anywhere is the Egg Sheet Noodle Peking Fashion. Sound strange? It’s purely wonderful if you like Mustard Sauce (unusual in Chinese, no?) and tender Pork over rice noodles and egg. Truly spectacular as a main dish.In summary, ask the knowlegable servers for more advanced options than the basic happy family and General Tso’s…
The WORST Chinese food that I have ever had the misfortune of eating. The General Tso’s Chicken was rubbery and had a slimy coating, while the vegetable fried rice had the taste of wet dog… not to mention the smell. It ruined my Sunday. Avoid this restaurant if at all possible
