Excellent!!. Other negative reviews complaining about parking in Broadripple is lame. Broadripple parking is what it is.The food at Shalimar is amazing. Easily my favorite Indian restaurant. We drive hours to get here. It doesn’t disappoint.
Descent Indian Place. We decided to dine at this Indian restaurant based on some of the review. Here is what I felt about it- The restaurant was kind of dark and could have had some better lighting. The entrance was not bright at all. hate those artificial trees. So decor was very mediocre- Food quantity was good for the prices- Quality was ok, better than many that I have tried.- The server was very cold and was a rip off. He was an old guy so wasn’t sure if there was anyone else.Well if there is nothing better then certainly worth it.
Loved it! My husband and I went for a rare dinner without the kids and fell in love! Our food was awesome and the service superb, we will definitely be back.
A Favorite for Take Out. Though some may say that the decor is tired, it seems to me that decor is not what an Indian restaurant is all about. Though there are flashy styles I prefer that they focus on the wonderful curries, the delicious breads (Naan), and the well spiced dishes that I frequently take home after a long day. Their vindaloo is near perfect and the wonderful sides are well spiced and touched with just enough acidity to brighten every dish. Keep is simple and the quality shines through.
Anything but tasteless!!!. I recently visited shalimar to see if there were any different dishes from their other restaurant, India Palace. I was surprised to find a slightly smaller selection but a few different items that were equally tasty and of the finest quality of any Indian buffet I’ve been too… It’s a bit farther to drive but a nice change and the are has so much to offer I’m certain I’ll be back soon.
Great lunch buffet with a frequent diner card! Love their food and service. More buffet offerings than some of Indy’s other Indian lunch buffets.
Good food, tired ambience. Being British I look upon Indian food almost as my national fare (chicken tikka masala was invented not in India but in Birmingham, England) and I have always struggled to find anything in the USA that compares to the curry houses back home. The food at the Shalimar is pretty good and the service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself though is strip mall bland and not especially inviting. Good for carry outs if you live near but not a great place to go for a night out.
