Picking a Chinese place in Indianapolis is difficult because so many are the same. Most have very similar menus, similar prices, and taste the same. Taiwan Tea House in Castleton is a refreshing change of pace. Everything tastes fresh and not so salty. It authentic and family run.
I ordered carry-out from Taiwan Tea House for the first time last night, expecting typical Chinese carry-out. This was far better than any fast food Chinese place I’ve ever been to. The dishes are full of crispy vegetables (something rarely found at even a more expensive pan-Asian restaurant)! The Buddhist delight was delicious – flavorful while not tasting too greasy.I will definitely be returning!

We went here tonight and will not be going back. The food was overly salty and greasy and both my husband and I have indigestion. My son spit out the food we gave him and would only eat the steamed rice. He normally is not a picky eater, so if he won’t eat it, that tells me something. The Boba tea was good – probably the only thing worth ordering here.
Very clean restaurant, great service, piping hot food! It would be nice to have a description of the dishes on the menu instead of just the names, but otherwise a great experience.
Best Asian Diner on the Northeast Side!!!. Location! Location! Location! This restaurant is close to Castleton Mall and Keystone Mall on East 82nd. Perfect for those shopping close by or working near by! It’s casual atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. You have the option of dinning in or carrying out. My husband and I love coming here. The service is quick. The prices are inexpensive. The food always comes out HOT and freshly made. We highly recommend the Kung Pao chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. Their Kung Pao chicken is very spicy! Both entrees include a side of soup, rice, and two (2) crab rangoons. The best part is the amount of vegetables that you get with your entre. If you are a tea enthusiast, this place has the best bubble tea in the area!!! We recommend the taro and the coconut teas!!!
