What a little gem! Homemade authentic Cuban food made with love. Tough to get a seat so I usually do carry out. Bright, colorful and friendly. Owner’s usually on site. Go for the pork, it’s crazy good and fork tender!! Grab a shot below you leave!!
The colada and guava pastille was great!! But the colada needed to be slightly sweeter. The Cuban sandwich had a lot of meat, which I liked. However, not enough pickles or mustard. Also felt that the sandwich wasn’t panini’ed long enough… AND! The bread didn’t taste like Cuban bread. Miss the Cuban restaurants in south Florida!!!
Best coffee I have ever had. Great service. Highly recommend this to anyone who like a good sandwich and good espresso. Also the pastelitos are phenomenal.
There are many places in Indianapolis to get a sandwich. Pretty much any type of sandwich you can think of, you can get here. Grilled Cheese, rubens, philly cheese steaks, subs, dagwoods, etc. Of all the sandwich shops in Indy (not already mentioned in burgers, tenderloins, poboys, bbq), Taste of Havanas El Cubano is the best sandwich in Indy.
Great great great! The only thing more awesome than the food was the service. Everyone was so refreshingly happy and accommodating – HIGHLY recommend!!! (It’s small, so be advised the seating is very limited, but well worth the stop.)
Yes. I ate here shortly after it opened. It was a weekday and no-one was really around. The owner came out and broke down for me the whole process and history of the Cubano. I was totally impressed. This is a rare example of pouring pride into what you do. I will go out of my way to come here and eat.
The sandwiches were really good, especially the Cuban. They were able to make a gluten free option- it was a bowl of their beans, rice, and meat. The owner was also really friendly and the food was authentic. Overall, it was a really good meal!
