Terrible food. Bad service. Go to sushi on the rocks. It’s the best place for sushi. Wasabi is terrible
My husband and I have frequented Wasabi for years, but it’s not what it used to be. They charge extra for everything thing now – since it’s already expensive, we don’t appreciate being nickle-and-dimed. (We spent $60 on lunch a few days ago and she charged us $1 for a condiment-sized cup of dressing. Really?)As someone else mentioned, the owner has been rude lately and made some rather snarky remarks. The quality is on the downslope as well. Mushy, gooey rolls ladled with sauce? Blah.
WORST DINING EXPERIENCE. I just ate at Wasabi and normally it is a good place. However, this time the owner was very rude and would not honor my groupon, but gave no valid reason for not taking it. She created a very embarrassing scene, and told me that I should call groupon and get my money back if I was unhappy. I told her that I would not be returning, and she responded and said that was fine with her. I’ve been dining here for a long time but not anymore. If a restaurant can’t provide good and courteous customer service I don’t think they should be in business. The sushi used to be the best, but within the past year I noticed the rolls got smaller and smaller. These rolls are over priced for what you get.
Above par. The sushi was very good, the rice perfect but the specialty rolls get very pricy. The server really tried to sell us on the Mistake Roll and it was good, but we would rather stick to the non fried and non cooked varieties.
Disappointed.. Would be a better place if they actually honored the Groupon. The waitress has turned the Groupon down two different times for two lame reasons that have nothing to do with the listed fine print. The place could use a lesson or two in customer service.
Do not waste your time eating at Wasabi on 82nd. The food was decent, however, our server added an item to our ticket that we did not order and they did not honor our groupon because it was an holiday (so the owner said). Head up the street to Sushi on the Rocks and get a much better dining experience. Wasabi leaves a horrible taste in your mouth.
Pricey – with tip, 2 of the least expensive rolls, and edimame it was 30. That was with us having waters to drink to. It was tastey and did have good service
