Very personable customer service. I was an out of town guest and we enjoyed a patio dinner , the dinner was amazing with homemade dressings , and very tender beef. The server was knowledgeable on the menu and recommended the hard cider which I very much enjoyed. After dinner , I forgot an expensive sweater and drove home without it the next day. After calling and locating my sweater, they voluntarily sent my sweater to my home. Not even accepting postage for their expense! This was over and above what I expected! I would recommend to everyone to enjoy the menu, and know that you’ll be taken care of even when you leave. Truly exceptional service. And I love that it’s not corporate!!
Sometimes it’s Great, other times…eh. You never know what you’re going to get at this place. Some of their house beers, like the barleywine and other premiums, are excellent. Others are just so-so. Tuesday nights they have a beer special…cheap house pints. They tend to sell out quickly, though; it’s not unusual to order something and find it tapped out. Be sure to get a taste of whatever beer you want to buy first. The first couple dozen beers off a just-tapped brew are just LOADED with yeast. Why they continue to serve it like that I’ll never know, other than the clientele is too ignorant to send it back. If they bring me something like that I refuse to drink it. his has caused mild confrontations on occasion but I’m sorry, that’s just not satisfactory. I’m a homebrewer myself, and I know better. The food is up and down. You can’t go wrong with the bison burger, and they serve the best fries I have ever had. You get to pick your dip and a rub. But who goes to a restaurant just for the fries?Service is up and down, too. I’ve had times when I was treated like royalty, but on a busy night they are occasionally understaffed. I know for a fact that several of the wait staff have other jobs nearby.I keep going there because I like craft beer, it’s close, and the brew is much better than the brewpub down the street. Just make sure to watch what you get and stand up for yourself if they bring you something substandard.
Bad service. Very good food, but extremely slow service. We were seated in the bar. Only one bartender who was taking care of all the alcohol orders as well as those who wanted to order food. We waited 10 minted just to order; we ordered both a brew and our food at the same time. Brew arrived in a timely manner, but it took at least 45inutes for our food to be served. Not happy.

Not really a kids friendly . No changing table at the bathrooms and bathroom door wouldn’t lock .Food is ok .. Good idea with the fries dips and seasonings .
Traveling, stopped in based on the reviews. Started with a beer, pear hard cider, very good. They have a good craft brew selection on tap. For dinner I had the brisket over roasted squash risotto. The dinner was very flavorful with fresh Brussels sprouts. There was to much butter in the dish. At the end there was a pool left in the plate. Overall enjoyed the meal. They are doing a lot of things right with the fresh ingredients. They also could tighten up the dish a little to make it a true gastro pub delight. I recommend this restaurant
Great beer, food, and atmosphere!. I had heard of Black Swan and being in Avon, knew I was pretty close to it, but finally decided to try it with a few friends this week and it was really great! The beer samplers were a great way to try out their tasty beers. I was surprised at how many they had and I’m fairly picky about my beer, and found at least 3 I would definitely order again. We ordered the poutine appetizer, which was pretty good, as well as a Reuben (which I am not too crazy about but thought was amazing! Even the half I couldn’t eat was good reheated in the oven!), a burger, and a turkey apple Brie sandwich, which were both well liked by my friends. I have already recommended it and will definitely be coming back! Service was great and the place has an artsy (local artwork on the walls for sale, actually!) and comfortable feel.
