Kind of hit and miss on the dishes. Staff is pleasant, but slow.
Service was on the slow side. However, our meals were fairly good. My wife’s ceasar salad with grilled chicken breast was outstanding, I thought. (Its pretty hard to mess up a salad, though). The price point is just right, and we’ll go back sometime. I’d reccomend it to a friend, no problem.
The Best Le Peep I Have Been To. Le Breakfast, Le Lunch, Le Peep should all be Le Same, but they are not. I have been to several Le Peeps in Houston, but the one in downtown South Bend rivals them. How that is, I have no idea. It is a festive place, with better selection and food. This is a regular place for our Sunday brunch crew.
Very good food and nice atmosphere. I’m a LePeep fan. Not just of the South Bend store, but of the chain. I like what it stands for and how it franchises. Here’s what I like. Fresh, good quality ingredients and good tasting recipes. Take the bacon. In some restaurants you can read a newspaper through the bacon. Seriously. LePeeps has bacon like I’d make it at home. Potatoes that are chopped fresh, not out of a bag frozen. My favorite items include Bananas Fosters french toast. This is seriously good. I’ve had the original at Brennen’s in New Orleans and this, while different, is a real contender. The staff is awesome and friendly. Best breakfast in town.
Unsavory food and service. I refuse to have meetings at Le Peep anymore. The rude waitstaff and lack of decent food combine to create a truly disappointing experience for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. An example: I had ordered a salad that was supposed to come with avocado. It had none on it when it arrived at my table. I brought this to the waiter’s attention. Five minutes later, he emerged from the kitchen and unapologetically placed before me the smallest, brownest slice of avocado I had ever seen.
