The atmosphere is about as charming as my high school lunch room. That said, it’s the best sushi in the area. Way beyond anything you will find this side of LA.
Best Sushi In The Bend. We have been going here for years and absolutely love it. Keep it up Robert!
Where everybody knows your name. I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. I came here from La Porte and I came here when I lived in Michigan. I am always greeted by name and with a big smile from the whole staff. Love the food. I have tried other sushi restaurants but this is the one I will always come back to.
No flavor at all. I had the Teriyaki Chicken dinner with Egg soup and salad… The best tasting item was the salad!! Nothing else had any flavor at all – it was like eating nothing. I was one of the only people in my party who did not have the sushi, and they all seemed to enjoy it – but I thought it was a waste of money.
Enjoyed my meal here. Not the greatest looking restaurant (inside or out), but the food was great. Good sushi, good tempura. Many people claim this is the best sushi in town.
Takeout only. I don’t know if most other reviewers have been there so often that they don’t notice the bad smell anymore (old and new cigarette smoke and who knows what else from the rooms in the back), but when my son and I were going to dine there we changed our minds and took food out. It was really disgusting. The sushi was good but the enjoyment of the food was clearly overshadowed by the restaurant’s aroma. I think if they could clean up their restaurant, and get rid of the bad smell, they could be one of the best sushi restaurants in town.
This was a very big let down. I group of my coworkers went with me to Matuba and shared four plates of sushi. It all was flavorless and half had a heavy orange colored mayo on it. If you are looking for sushi then go to a different place.
