I went here because of the best burger in Michiana Contest that this place won in 2014. It still is a smoking establishment which doesn’t really bother me but some might not like it. I went with a few friends and we all got the award-winning burger. However, they do not let you modify the burger in anyway which I thought was kind of odd. I did not want onions but they would not take him off of the specialty burger. I had to order a regular burger and add on all the things that were on the specialty burger except for the onions.The burger was very tasty although I don’t think it’s my favorite burger ever. The other downside is it is a very small area and also very very loud even with only a few patrons inside. Also the air conditioning does not seem to work very well it was extremely extremely hot inside even though the outside temperature was cool .

I was greeted by a nice bartender who was very welcoming. She said the burgers were the best, so I tried the bacon cheeseburger. The meat was not seasoned, bacon was small, but overall it was ok – $6.00 it’s definitely better than McDonalds. The price justifies the burger, but not the best burger in town.

So don’t do what I did and think you are bringing burgers back for the office. my 3.50 burgers were 6.60 each, which ok, but wouldn’t you think that info should be on the menu or something! good thing I had a credit card!
The View, in my opinion, is the best Hole-in-the-wall bar in South Bend. The food is fantastic and the people are always very welcoming. Make sure to check out their daily specials. Especially on Saturdays for the infamous Prime Rib Sandwich (Order w/ Swiss cheese and grilled onions). When in doubt, go with the Becky Burger. This has been my home bar for 2 years.
Great Neighborhood Bar, Great Specials. Great burgers! This is a place that has good daily specials, especially tuesdays where most things are 3 bucks (including pitchers of beer and burgers). Atmosphere is nothing fancy. Just a good ol’ neighborhood bar.
Best Burger in town…hands down!!. For the 21 and over crowd (since this is a Tavern) ……. this gets my vote for the Best burger in South Bend area! Great homemade soups and yummy comfort food too!!
