7th and elm has this image of being a nice, family oriented atmosphere. But my experience there was awful! To start off my server was terrible. My food was wrong and had a fingernail in the salad that I did not order. I had to go to the restroom and found the dirtiest bathroom ever! I was already queasy from the salad incident, and this just made it worse. And when I wanted to talk to a manager, I was treated very rudely.. The manager did not try and make anything right that I had told him about. Therefor I will never be coming back.
Nice Vegetarian Options. Nice vegetarian options. Good beer selection. Outdoor dining in warmer months. My faves are the grilled cheese and tomato on sourdough with a side of tomato basil soup (not a daily option).
Basic Pub. Lots of drink options. Our group got the burgers which were mediocre. The fries were too. Basic pub food, nothing special.
Absolutely THE best burgers I’be ever had since Fuddruckers closed in Indiana. Fresh meat from local farmers (these guys buy the whole cow!) hand-pressed, flame grilled… you won’t get better eatin’ unless you cook it yourself (and even then, 50/50 is about your best hope.) Courteous staff, generous portions, extremely affordable prices, and a delightful pub atmosphere is just the ticket for a grown-up get-together. Close to ISU campus, 7th and Elm even offers beautiful, fresh scenery with every visit.
BAD FOOD, SERVICE AND NO REPLY FROM OWNERS!. My husband and I took family from out of town to this restaurant for dinner last week after bragging up the burgers. Having eaten there many times for lunch I cold generally rely on the staff for gluten free menu information or at least allowing me to see the ingredient listings to determine for myself if it was gluten free. This trip was disasterous. Not only did I find they are no longer using SWEET BABY RAY’S GLUTEN FREE BBQ SAUCE for their pulled pork (using instead some off brand gluten filled product) but the gluten free requirement explained to the server in the beginning was later ignored with my salad arriving with croutons on top! SERIOUS BUSINESS WITH MY HEALTH RISKS. Although I take full responsibility for my own choices in a restaurant I ask questions and know what items are generally safe for me to choose. Additionaly, one of the three burgers ordered was very rare, dripping in grease and returned to the kitchen for more cooking. It was then replaced with another burger, however not the one originally ordered which was also dripping in grease and as might be expected, brought well after the rest of us had finished our meals. Although it was removed from our bill it was upsetting. I contacted the owners via their website the next day to allow them the chance to respond to our experience. After waiting a full week I have truned to the travel sites to post a review. In this economy I am spending my money where they care about my gluten free needs and I can count on quality food prepared as it is stated on the menu. I refuse to pay for bad food, bad menu information which puts me at risk, untrained and uninformed kitchen and wait staff.
Onion Rings!!!. Best Onion Rings in Terre Haute. I love the Sweet Ray’s Barbeque sauce that they serve with it. I always order a lemonade w/pomegranete syrup to go with the rings. The burgers really aren’t anything special…
