Perfect!. Six of us dined last night for a graduation dinner. I made reservations two months ago and all that was left was seating in the bar area and I was worried. It was a great private alcove so was a pleasant surprise. The waitress was outstanding and not afraid to give her opinion about options. All food was superb. Some reviews state it is pricey. Our meal for six with cocktails, a bottle of wine, appetizers, salads, steaks and desserts was about $80 a person. Compared to similar meals in our hometown of Columbus, Ohio it was very reasonable.
Last Minute Dinner Plans. Stopped in to see the recent renovations and to peruse the new bar menu. As expected, food was great and wait staff exceeded expectations. The new bar menu is unique and unusual. The bar menu includes a hamburger with bacon jam. Simply amazing! The unusual appetizer selection is always enjoyable and delicious. Try the fried green tomatoes!

Food is amazing, location leaves a lot to be desired. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, location barred. Took my lady here recently and the food was absolutely amazing. Every single thing is cooked to perfection, the staff is very skilled and courteous. As a frequent diner (of local restaurants), I have to say this place offers, hands down the best service of any restaurant in Terre Haute. They have a very well-trained staff, and it shows. We sat near the bar and the bartender was very good at her job for being so young. Very friendly and professional young woman. There was some issues at the bar with another patron, and she handled the situation very gracefully without any distracting escalation. Price is high, but you get what you pay for. This is a fine dining establishment, and definitely one you should experience. If you want cheap food and a quick meal, head to Applebees. Be prepared to spend some time in here. Again, amazing dining experience, and one you won’t regret.
Excellent Food and Service. I took my daughter here to celebrate some recent achievements and it was everything we hoped. We had the lobster corn dogs which had a wonderful sweet and spicy sauce. My daughter had the ribeye and said it was the best she ever had. My duck was delicious, crispy skin and moist. They were also able to suggest a wine pairing which was perfect. Our waitress was wonderful and friendly, she answered my daughters questions without making her feel ridiculous for asking. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.
Mouth Watering!. I am in charge of the Christmas dinner for our company and we have gone here two years in a row. It has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff is so nice. It would be perfect for a romantic night or the private room for a party. The portobello mushroom fries are delicious. They have quite a selection of butters that were all good. The filet mignon with mushroom dust was hands down the best steak I have ever tasted. The Ahi Tuna steak (Special in the winter) was so delightful. I think it was better than Umi Grill (Terre Haute) and St. Elmos (Steakhouse in Indianapolis. It was seasoned to perfection. The wedge salad and sides were spot on. Please treat yourself to this amazing restaurant. It is pricey but you leave feeling like it was worth every penny.
Absolutely wonderful.. My husband’s family and ourselves make J. Ford’s Black Angus the top choice restaurant to go for special occasions. I have to say, we have NEVER had a bad experience. From the elegant atmosphere, to the well educated staff, and the undeniably wonderful food, this restaurant is by far our most favorite! The staff is always able to intricately describe each and every dish and the specials never let us down. Each time that we leave, we can’t wait to come back! Bravo J. Ford’s Black Angus chef and staff, you are hands down THE BEST!
