Great Gyros!. Ordered delivery via campus special and I was very happy with the food and service! They gyro was great even though it was near closing time. The cinnamon knots were pretty good, too. I love the sandwiches from this place! The last time I got pizza, the dough was a bit too chewy.
Pizza City: no pizzazz but good food & service. Ok, it used to be on 2nd Street west of Indiana State University but in 2013 they had to move and are now over on Walnut Street [one-way west] – still close to campus and within walking distance if you like about a 1-mile hike and they do deliver. building has better parking than previous place and is good for quiet lunches on weekdays; there are 2 rooms you can sit in, there’s a tv in the corner but not blaring. place is clean but plain, a few games for kids, but you’re not here for the atmosphere. the people at the counter are VERY nice. the pizzas are great, as are the sandwiches and the salads are huge. my favorite is the Italian Chef – hold the green peppers. they have wonderful ‘garlic knots’ and ‘cinnamon knots’. not a place for a 1st date unless it’s a group. just a nice, hometown Terre Haute place to know about and go fairly often – still no website or online ordering, you have to call! – update from my original 2009 review
