I’ve been happy with everything I have eaten there. Wouldn’t say it was the best I ever had but it’s definitely good and a true gem in Terre Haute.
Not had a bad experience. Not the best BBQ in the world but friendly service and worth the price.
Crappy food and worse service, tried it a few times to give it a fair shake. But was disappointed every time, the sauce was lacking and the meat was dry. Won’t be back and would not reccomend it to any of my friends or family. Just plain awful, and it’s expensive eat at your own risk. Yuck !
One of the Reasons To Live!!!!. My dad is a restaurant owner himself, so my family’s expectations are high.But when it comes to this place, there is no question about the quality!!!!!!!!!!Service exceeds a high level, the owner is super hospitable ( You Gotta LoveThis Guy!) And the food opens your eyes to a better kind of BBQ Cuisine!!!!!!!The atmosphere has a home feeling, but the design and interior has its ownpersonality! The only thing I would recommend to Rick’s Smoke House wouldmost likely be their waiting service. We usually have to wait a while before a server would notice us, but other than that, its just one of the jewels that onlyTerre Haute has!
Just Mediocre Fare. I’ve been to many BBQ places over time. Rick’s Smokehouse falls to the low/mediocre place on the food chain. I’ve eaten here probably half a dozen times, and have never come away with what I would call a good meal. Fair at best, from the meat to the sides. Several times I’ve had to send my plate back because of quality problems. The BBQ sauce doesn’t have the outstanding flavor of some of the better restaurants. It is over priced for the quality and quantity. I only go back when friends want to eat BBQ, and this is about it in Terre Haute for BBQ. Still waiting for a great sit down BBQ restaurant in Terre Haute. Hoping someday to get a City BBQ here.
Rick is the best place for Smoked grub. Have been there several times since it opened. We have always had good service. Food is great. There is always plenty of interesting, antique, and unusual items to check out while enjoying the meal. A great place for a conversation or a business meeting.
Pretty good grub. Not bad for Midwest Indiana.
