Love it!!!. I remember riding my bike up here as a child and right when you walk in the smell makes you smile. Such a great place to cure your sweet tooth! Everything is so fresh and looks mouthwatering. I’m so glad this place is still around!
THE BEST!!. Chuck’s bakery is the best bakery in the world!! I have been to Denmark numerous times and Chuck’s custard filled long johns and chocolate raised (yeast) donuts are better than the Danish’s from DK. You gotta try ’em!!
Unfortunate. My fiance and I both grew up in the Valparaiso area but now live out west. Our wedding for this year will be back in Valpo so our planning has to be done on our short visits home. She went to Chuck’s all the time growing up for doughnuts and never went anywhere else which is why she was going to choose them to design our wedding cake. Both times she tried to talk to them in August and in December the staff and the pastry chef in particular were EXTREMELY rude to her. It’s unfortunate to see this place hire awful awful people since she had such great memories. I don’t understand why anyone would treat customers like this and not want to make money. Needless to say we are spreading the word to avoid this horrendous place amongst family and friends that still live there. -Cole M.
Real Donuts. This is what a real bakery is, not this crap at dunkin donuts.
Old-school baking at its best. Not fancy, not cutting edge. Great baked goods, great prices, helpful staff. No $5 cupcakes or competition cakes, just fantastic donuts and pastries.
