KAKO ESTIATORIO. How do you say, bad restaurant in Greek? Oh, yeah. KAK ESTIATRIO.Hopefully, someone will get the message and close this place. It is bad on so many levels.First, though, a word about the good reviews of Parea that are on this website. My guess is that they were written by (A) the owners wife, (B) someone the owner paid, or (C) someone who had their tastebuds removed as a child. Those are the only explanations.Lets begin with drinks. The Blood Orange Manhattan had no essence of blood orange in it. Cmon, fess up. The Malbec that my wife had would have made an Argentine cry with shame. Main ingredient? H2O.PLEASE STOP READING THIS AND WAIT FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE RESUMING. THATS HOW LONG WE WERE WAITING FOR WHAT CAME NEXT:(Okay, according to the waiter, the reason for the long wait was an unexpected spike in business. What? It was 6:30 PM on a Saturday night! If you DIDNT expect business then, when would you? Ay Caramba! This must have been on page 2 of the Waiters Excuse Dictionary.)How about a real Grecian delight for an appetizerSpanikotiropita, or Greek Spinach Cheese pie. Not hard to make, Spinach, feta cheese and Phyllo sheets, brush with butter and bake. If I can make it, why cant the cook here do the same? These appetizers were straight from the freezer section of Wiseway and thrown under a broiler to brown the tops. They came to the table on a bed of shredded, wilted lettuce. Um, no tzatziki sauce? Nope, just dry, tasteless wedges from the chefs at Wiseway. Speaking of shredded wilted lettuce, add three matchsticks of red pepper, 2 slices of cucumber and two tomato wedges with the core left on and youve got the salad. About as appetizing as something youd find in a pet rabbits food bowl. Now, heres what really makes this a class A kak estiatrio:I ordered Fettucine Alfredo with shrimp. The first shrimp was uncleaned, the mud vein clearly visible. What did the waiter say?Oh, I saw the chef cleaning them this morning. He must have missed one.Well, no, he actually didnt clean any of them! Five big shrimp sitting on my plate with their intestinal tracts (and contents therein) happily intact. The waiter disappeared and came back with a plate of newly cleaned and sautd shrimp. I took a bite and the iodine-tinged taste of a crustacean long since called to its maker filled my mouth.Hmmm, what else can I say about this overpriced monument to seriously inept (and dangerously unhealthy) food preparation?Oh, yeah, no water was offered and neither was bread. The waiter did offer dessert but something out of the display case at Town & Country is not my idea of haute cuisine. My advice? Call Gordon Ramsey. At once.
Great times!. Friendly atmosphere. Good service. Consistently good food. I normally order from the drink, appetizer, and sandwich menus and have never been disappointed. I was also here with a large party eating dinner, and everyone enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere.
Best crab Cake in the Midwest!. I have eaten crabcakes all over the country from Chicago to Baltimore. The last time I had a crab cake that was this moist and tastey was caught fresh off the boat in Maryland and made on the spot! This was not a breaded cake with a small ammount of crab! The mustard that was served with it was very good! 2 golden delicious crab cakes for $12My friend and I also had The angus burgers. These were very good as well and cooked to order! Burgers ran about $9 each.I am not a beer drinker but I did notice they have a large selection of drafts. Not just your Miller , Bud, MGD stuff .. This was Blue Moon, Stella, Ginuess, Sierra Nevada. Etc.. Nice decor and was a beuatiful day so the windows were open with a nice view of some college girls enjoying martinis on the patio.
Awful!. The worst meal we have had in memory! My wife had the herbed chicken and I had the shishkabob. Her chicken tasted as if it was several days old and simply reheated It was so dry that it was tough to swallow! My meat also was so dry that I had difficulty getting it down. Salads tasted old and out of the bag mixes. The bread was stale and the olive oil dip tasteless. The place is very beautiful, but the food was without any redeaming quality. Go else where, spend your money where they have a real cook.
My husbnd and I went there on a Friday night and ordered calamari for appetizer, and mediterranian chicken and t bone steak for our entres. Calamari was burnt and chicken was very salty. There service is also not great. Very slow. The salad that comes with the entres also had freezer burn on the tomatoes.
Delicious!. My husband took me here for my birthday, knowing its a nice new place around town. We absolutely loved the place. It was very busy during dinner and we didnt have reservations and thus had to wait about 20 minutes. We ended up going over to the bar area and enjoyed a few drinks there. Very nice atmosphere and the bar was abolsutely beautiful inside!! Once we were seated in the dining area, we were quickly greeted by our server. Everyone was very polite and our server was very friendly. We shared an appetizer, the grapeleaves and those were soo delicious. I got steak and my husband the ribs. The steak was cooked just as I ordered and my husband said the ribs were some of the best he has had! Overall, very impressed with this place. Will definetely come back again and bring our families! Such a nice new atmosphere in a great location.
Great place for food, friends, & fellowship. I frequent Parea’s often & their food is top notch!! They have two sides, a restaurant side (that is very eloquent) and a bar side (where you can just relax & hand out). Order from their full bar or one of the 110+ beers (Draft or bottle, domestic, small craft beers, etc…). You can watch the game on one of 9-10 televisions. The music is loud enough to hear, but not overbearing so conversations are not affected. Great atmosphere! Did I mention that the food is great?! No matter whether you order their steaks, seafood, appetizers, salads, pasta, or the specials~you won’t be disappointed! The owner/manager goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied and served well! The food is priced well, but may seem on the pricey side, but it is well worth it!!
