Good service, ok drinks, poor food. Went here on new years eve, had great service and drinks. Drinks were pretty pricey even for downtown Valpo. I had the special Beef Brisket Burger , which was essentially pulled pork on top of my burger no where near what brisket should look or taste like .My girl friend had a shrimp pasta dish which was plain and consisted of noodles tossed and olive oil with shrimp . the food was simply plain and boring .nothing too it.I could have easily made better dishes at home, especially for the $100 price tag .
Average food at best. Ordered a $32 Ribeye cooked medium rare. What I got was a medium rare ribeye with the lone flavor throught being gristle. I’ve made better steaks on my own grill for $6. Service was acceptable, but for what they charge for flavorless food, won’t be going back
Pros: fresh margaritas, Wed. tableside guacamole, friendly servers Cons: Most food on the menu is very average. Many items have been overcooked, chewy or lacking in flavor.
Awesome Tavern Burger, very filling. Also, very good onion rings that taste like an upscale county fair (if there is such a thing)
Our Go To Place in Valpo. We’ve been to Pikk’s at least 50 times, and had a good experience 98% of the time. Good food, good service in an upscale but casual atmosphere, without the pretentiousness of many of the other restaurants on Lincolnway. Mexican special menu on Wednesday nights and Sunday brunch are our favorite times to drop in, but we’ve eaten there other nights as well. Great bar area too, with a long list of specialty cocktails, and good call liquors.
Always excellent. We have been going to Pikk’s Tavern regularly for several years. We have found the service and food to be exemplary. The bartenders and wait staff are very friendly and attentive, without being too pushy. While we certainly have our favorite dishes, like the tuna tartar, the seafood stew, and the dishes offered on Mexican night, we have always been very happy with anything we’ve eaten at Pikk’s. It’s a very relaxing place to go for a drink and an appetizer, and it also fits the bill for a romantic dinner/evening.
Visited for the first time a couple Saturday’s ago. We were seated right away, staff was attentive & informed with the menu. Service was quick, food very good, especially the pumpkin creme brle. Will go back.
