I attend a monthly wine class at sage and enjoy it very much. This month, we accidentally showed up for a class that had been canceled. The staff sat us down for dinner instead and gave us top notch service. It was really nice! The food was marvelous—would highly recommend the chicken Marsala and the steak! They definitely wowed me with their service and commitment to me, a loyal customer. I will continue to visit this local gem.
Dessert. So busy raving about everything else, I forgot to mention dessert…Oh My Goodness…Chocolate Pots are indescribable….I would like to buy in a five gallon container please….15 Feb, 2013Valentines Day Dinner. WOW….fabulous dinner….amazing atmosphere….our server and all the support staff where on top of their game….We started with the mushroom and spinach rolls with marinara sauce….perfect portion for two to share….the sauce was wonderful…..my husband had the smoked cabbage soup and I had a Caesar Salad….the croutons were perfectly seasoned….portions were perfect….the steak was done right (med rare) and mashed potatoes where decadent….as for portion sizes….I cant see how anyone can complain….The Chef came out and greeted all the tables…and Melissa (owner) checked on us several times….Their presence on the floor lets you know they really care about your dining experience… WE WILL BE BACK! Thanks Sage for making our Valentines Day perfect….p.s. LOVE the music!!!!!!
Yum!. We love the food here. The lamb shank is the absolute best! The decor is a little plain, but clean. I love that this place exists so close to home! I have never left disappointed!
Yummm!. I have eaten Italian food all over the country and this chef is the best that I have found! Tuscany on Taylor St. downtown Chicago used to be my favorite until I ate at Sage. I’ve eaten there 3 times. I had different entree’s and appetizers each time and every item has been AMAZING!! You will not be disappointed by the food or wine selection!!
Great restaurant experience. My husband and I live in Chicago and ate at Sage while staying at the Waterbird Inn and Spa. Our waitress was attentive and helpful without being intrusive. We shared the beet salad, sausage pizza (sausage made on premises), and scallops dinner. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was excellent, and the flavors were delicious. The ambiance was pleasant, and there were clearly repeat customers eating at the same time we were there. While the prices may be higher than a typical restaurant in the area, we found that the dining experience and quality of food were well worth it.
Great italian restaurant. Excellent food, freshly prepared with fresh ingrediants, and apparently pastas and sausage are made on site by Chefs and line cooks.. Service and atmosphere are excellent.
Yummy! Just left Sage, great specials- tasty wine, efficient service. We will be back.
