The worst pizza in Valparaiso. I’ve tried all of the pizza restaurants in Valparaiso and Verona Pizza on Morthland made the worst pizza I’ve had to date. The entire pizza was overcooked, the mushrooms were canned not fresh, the sauce tasted like tomato paste not pizza sauce, the sausage clumps were too large for the pizza and the mozzarella was put on top of all of the ingredients not on top of the sauce with the toppings over it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
It’s the sauce and mozzarella. There seems to be a pizza joint every other block in Valpo, and they all taste the same, except for Verona Pizza. Finally a pizza that has flavor and tons of it! The sauce is very good, and a pizza that has 100% mozzarella cheese. Detest the blend of mozz and the yellow processed cheese that other pizza restaurants insist on using as toppings. Our favorite is the Italian, regular crust. The staff is wonderful. Keep up the great work and don’t change the recipe!

Please brown the cheese a little!!. About the closest thing to Chicago (south side) thin crust as I’ve found in Indiana. Not sure what it is, but pizza in Indiana is pretty lame. However, Verona is really quite good. I just wish they would leave the pizza in the oven a few more minutes….to get that nice browned finish to the cheese. Whenever we get a pizza from Verona, we fire up the oven (broiler) at home to finish it off properly. We’ve even asked for our pizza to be browned a bit on top, but they just can’t seem to accomplish it. Verona is mostly a carry-out joint. They do have a few tables, but I rarely see anybody in there eating. Keep up the good work Verona…just don’t be in such a hurry to remove my pie from the oven!!
