Just terrific – we eat at YATS almost weekly (not great for the waistline, but it’s a delicious vice…). I’ve got a goodly amount of Cajun in my family line, and used to visit them in New Orleans & Baton Rouge annually when I was growing up; YATS is a cafe worthy of Louisiana! Not crazy about the chili-cheese touffe (not enough crawfish), but everything else I’ve had I’ve really enjoyed. Do yourself a favor and get a slice of peanut butter pie.

Good Fast Food. Stopped by lunch. Menu is limited but this is a good thing. This is fast food done ok. Jambalaya was more like a sticky thick rice casserole but tasty enough. Husband ordered red beans and rice, he liked it. Portions are good, prices are good. Will return.
This place is great! I have been many times now because the first time I went it was so delicious! It’s super cheap, super duper fast, and honestly has the best food in Valpo. I recommend it 100%. It’s good for date night and just hanging out with friends. My favorite is the Maque Shox (I think that’s how you spell it) and the chicken creole is equally amazing! This is a MUST TRY place!!
Delicious Cajun Comfort Food. I live 45 minutes away from Yats and wish I lived closer. I am craving the food all the time! My favorite is the Maque Choux but everything else is good too. The side of garlic bread given with every meal is out of this world. Very fast service! I will be back again and again!
I had the spinach and mushroom touffe yesterday and I.AM.STILL.THINKING.ABOUT.IT!!! It was THAT good. And it’s not just the food, the owner and staff are the most welcoming of folks! Come with a group, come with a friend, come by yourself! They will help you fit right in!
