Their caterpillar roll is the best in town! Too far out to visit often.
Sushi is wonderfully and reasonably priced. Wow, try the wasabi pork dumplings!
FIGURE IT OUT!. When a customer comes into a restaurant and orders 2 rolls specifically to his or her taste DO NOT add your own f’n spin on things to it. Asked for shrimp tempura, cream cheese, and spicy crab on top. I get my order and there is avocado, the chef’s favority spicy mayo (over the top), and lettuce!! Really, I gave you a 2nd chance after the first trip was horrid and you shot your wad again.
The best real Japanese food. The best service and food I have ever had. It is my favorite restaurant. The Japanese grocery store next door is awesome. Very helpful and they make sure you get the right item.
Japanese food is first rate and sushi is excellent. Some turnover with management keeps it from being outstanding. Had tempura on last visit and you could tell the deep fryer oil needed to be changed.
HORRID!. Recently i went to iwataya without previously going there. My hopes were high and i ordered 2 california rolls and two other rolls..one philidelphia and then some crab salad roll… i was very dissapointed when the sushi came out. Right away i could tell the avacado was not fresh. neither was the salmon in the philidelphia roll. The sushi tasted horrible! My boyfriend and i ended up having to force down the last of the sushi! and it was also all over priced… more than 7 dollars a roll. I will never go back to this place! The sever was also quite rude..not to mention they didnt even offer regular silverwear, just chopsticks..so i was forced to eat my salad with chopsticks. ALSO the salad dressing was not traditional and tasted terrible to me……never will i return.
It’s a great find. First, the staff were amazing!! Haven’t had service that good in a long time. Love the atmosphere. I’ve had better sushi in town, but they gave a great and extensive menu. I always hear good things about it. Will go back for sure.
