The Review of the Arts Behind a Sandwich. Sub Connection is located on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana, in the university center, which is the food court. The restaurants hours vary and are shown in the following: Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturday -Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. These are fairly convenient to the average college student. I am a frequent visitor to Sub Connection. This eating place is the similar to Jimmy Johns and Subway. The menu consists of a fresh selection of bread, deli meats, and delicious vegetable toppings. There are also daily soup selections available and salads. Sub Connection is a place that struggles with time, keeping a clean place, and quality service. When choosing a place to eat on campus, it depends on how much time I have and how long I want to wait. Sub Connection always has the longest line which wraps back around the corner from the main serving line. From the time I get in line to time, I get to front of the serving line is roughly ten minutes. The serving line runs from right to left starting with the type of bread or wrap you would like. The bread has a little crunch to it and it smashed from all the tossing around it endures. Moving down the line next comes the meat and cheese you prefer and whether you would like it toasted or not. After all this is the all vegetables and sauces you would like. The workers are very frugal with the vegetables yet put an abundance of sauce on the sandwich. Never count on your vegetables being spread out evenly throughout the sandwich as they will all be clumped up in one big ball. The workers need to learn how to spread the vegetables out and put a good amount of sauce on the bread. Once you see the serving line, do not count on a clean and organized restaurant. There is a scale to weigh a portion size of meat yet there is always chunks of meat laying around the scale. This is not pleasing for the costumers. It would only take a few seconds to wipe down the scale before the next order. Behind the workers is a counter that has the toaster oven on it but the toaster oven always has stuff cluttered around so the workers have to touch the clutter to get the sandwich in the toaster. Then they turn around and start making sandwiches again. The business is very unorganized and cluttered all the time. They need to take a few extra minutes a day to keep it organized and neat looking. Going to a restaurant, I expect to be waited on and have the server want to help me. Yet at this restaurant, the workers are never joyous to help customers and are just there to get a paycheck. They need to learn how to treat a customer right. I was at Sub Connection for lunch a few weeks ago, and it came time for the vegetables to be put on. I asked for lettuce and then wanted more, the employee takes and puts two heaping handfuls of lettuce. She was very rude about this situation. Then, before I was able to eat my sandwich, I had to scrape the lettuce off and remake my sandwich because of the messiness. I no longer get sauce because I could barely eat my sandwich because the sauce was overbearing. The workers just need to learn to be courteous. The costumers need to be aware of the price of the sub that they are wanting. Sub Connection has set prices for their speciality sandwiches, but if there is a different sandwich you are wanting the price is not listed. You can get a good meal for under eight dollars. This restaurant has good taste but lacks quality in several aspects. Sub Connection is not the place for me to eat, but living on a college campus you do not have a huge variety of choices.
