Love this place.. I live a few blocks away, over on taber, and we don’t keep a car so our ‘go out’ options are limited if we don’t take a bus. Thankfully, we have Albertos within walking distance. My favourite thing on their menu is Alberto’s Burrito, which you can get with beef, chicken, pork or steak but I usually opt for just beef. Comes with some shredded lettuce, rice, and absolutely smothered in cheese. Maria’s Burritos is basically the same, but for a smaller appetite. It’s affordable too. I bought lunch for both of my parents the last time they visited and for all three of us with margaritas I paid under $30. Good food, nice atmosphere, super attentive staff, but you will likely have to wave them down to actually get your bill. Pro-Tip, lunchtime can get a little hectic, as can dinner, so it’s a good idea to either go for a late lunch or early dinner here to avoid a wait.

Best Mexican in Fort Wayne!. I love this place! It’s one of my daughter & I’s special sneak-away spots! Always good & hot every time I’ve been there. The beef Fajita Burrito is really good. One thing worth mentioning: you can order the same thing every time you go and it may be a little different depending on who’s cooking! It doesn’t really matter how the dish says it’s prepared, the cook adds their own flare so if you are particular about wanting/not wanting a certain ingredient, make sure you tell them! Alberto’s is one of the few places in town that you can get authentic Mexican food!

Alberto’s was fantastic. Some of the best Mexican I’ve had in town. Started with warmed tortilla chips and their salsa. Red salsa was great, very fresh with cilantro. Even better was the green salsa we asked to try. Spicy and tangy, it was addictive. Chori-queso was a thin cheese dip with mildly spiced chorizo at the bottom. Tons of flavor and very rich. I had a carnitas torta. It came on a toasted roll with pieces of pork that were salty and meaty, crispy on the edges and had just enough fat. The pork was tipped with avocado, onion and tomato and was delicious. I also tried a chicken tamale. It was moist and flavorful though the shredded chicken was a bit dry. Next time I will try the pork tamale. My friend had a chimichanga which was Decent. She ordered it without meat and wanted beans inside and instead they stuffed it full of fajita veggies. Simply a miscommunication, though I wish I could have tried the beans. The Mexican rice that came with her dish seemed homemade and was very flavorful. They had an extensive menu (as do most Mexican places) but it was full of items not seen at many less authentic joints. Next time I want to try the chilaquiles or huevos rancheros, as well as their mole.Overall I very much enjoyed my meal and can’t wait to return. Definitely worth a try.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Fort Wayne! I have gone here every year for my birthday. This will sound strange but they have the best milk shakes!

Service was good BUT when the food came out 3 of the 5 meals we ordered were cold. Sad to because the mole sauce had a good flavor. Me personally cold food is a strike out.

Good food and a much better deal than La Margarita!. This little restaurant opened several years ago and has been giving La Margarita a healthy competition for the duration. It’s not that the food down the street isn’t good; it is. Just not good enough to warrant paying almost double. The specials are usually great and I have several favorites from their menu. And their breakfasts are also authentic and very tasty. Some faves:Choriqueso Dip: Warm queso dip with peppers and chorizo sausage, stir, stir and enjoy with chips and salsa. Ask for some of their green salsa too for a little extra kick!Alambres de Carne Asada: Deluxe steak fajitas with onions, peppers, and bacon with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and tomato.Fajita Burrito: The name says it all, a flour tortilla stuffed full of fajita goodies and topped with a white, cheesy sauce, yum!Chorizo con Huevos: A delicious and authentic Mexican breakfast, eggs with chorizo sausage and the usual sides with warm corn or flour tortillas. I like to eat it like fajitas.

’tis ok. Going west on Pontiac, didn’t recall if should turn left or right upon hitting Calhoun Street to go to the Mexican place I was wanting to try for lunch… so, turned right, and found Alberto’s. It was a rainy Friday [yesterday], was running late, and didn’t feel like searching, so pulled into the parking lot here – noticing that there were quite a few cars, must be good, right?Upon entering, nice clean place – typical decor, pleasant upon the eyes, esp. the ceiling design. Was kind of loud, with ~8 tables full of 2-8 people. Ordered a shrimp burrito – comes with side of rice, and supposedly covered with queso too, but they’d not put that on by mistake – waitress brought over couple small containers so I could drizzle that on top. Chips were tasty, as was the main meal. One qualm with the chips was that they were not hot/warm… as I prefer chips to be. The shrimp were firm and meaty, with a good taste. Salsa was good ‘n chunky, a bit on the sweet side – tasted good. Enjoyed washing it all down with the strawberry fresa [Agua de Fresa Mexican Strawberry Water] – which was very good.Paying the bill however, that turned into a bit of a wait – waitress hadn’t brought the bill to the table, so went to the podium area, smiled as got attention of one of the other ladies,,, and after ~5 more minutes finally had the bill paid. Overall, good place, friendly staff, clean decor, and ok food – my preference is still Las Lomas on Coliseum & Lake Ave. Now, next trip down Pontiac, know now that need to turn left to get to La Margarita.
