Food was great! I ordered a salad and ribeye. The salad was a solid straight forward house salad. The steak was cooked perfect. It was not over seasoned and done with basic salt and pepper, from what I could tell. The staff was very pleasant and prompt. We will be back again! The food rivals anyone else in town for a fraction of the price!
GREAT food along with a good time!!. This is not your typical restaurant. It is a bar, a bar with fun entertainment and it’s always a good time for me!! However, it goes beyond just being a bar. The food is AMAZING! Everything is fresh. The meats are hand cut, ground and pattied, veggies are clean and crisp, and the kitchen genuinely cares about the quality of food they are sending out to you. When I’m looking for a quiet day I can sit and have lunch knowing my food is going to be fresh and delicious! When I’m looking for a fun night, the food is still going to be delicious if I choose to eat. Food is served until Midnight, every night besides Sunday! The Office Tavern has entertainment for us 6 of the 7 nights a week!! It is a very welcoming place to let loose and have fun without judgement. There is always going to be the possibility of a bad service experience at one point or another just about ANYWHERE you go. If you are looking for a quiet fine dining room, this is MAY NOT be your place (not because the food is not comparable), but if you are looking to go out for a good time and cut loose then maybe I’ll see you there!
Poor service. There were 6 in our parry. 4 empty booths and 2 empty tables for 4 and they told us it would be 45 minutes they wee not really set up to accommodate large parties. They turned away paying customer. We went elsewhere to spend our money
Excellent steaks! Excellent house salad-best in town. You can’t sit at bar while waiting to eat because they seat people there for dinner. One of my favorite places in town. But give yourself plenty of time. Great fries too!
Great Steak. One of the best NY Strips I’ve ever had — I liked it better than the one I had at Eddie’s five days before (and that was a great steak, too). One of our party got the filet, and deemed it top-notch. The salad far-exceeded my expectations, and the huge baked potato was covered with house-made cheese sauce and bacon. The place was packed, but the servers took good care of us.
Worst Evening. We arrived at the Office Tavern at 6pm Friday 02-21-14. We had a group of 9 and was told it would be a 90 minute wait. This was ok it was early and we came for an evening of good food and Crab Races. After waiting about 30 minutes I found an empty seat at the bar and sat down. While seated I bought 2 rounds of drinks for my friends at $20 a round with tip. I began putting money into a video game at the bar to pass the time while my friends played pool. Pretty soon the waitress told me I would have t gove up my seat at the bar because I wasn’t eating. I thought she was kidding, I laughed and kept playing. She soon returned and told me she was NOT kidding and that she was told by management to make me give up my seat. I explained I was waiting for a table and that I was spending money at the bar but she gave me no choice but to leave. At 8:45pm 4 of our 9 was seated yet everyone who had came in after us had already been seated. These were the only 4 in our group that got to eat. I was asked to give up my seat at the bar because I was not yet eating but many tables of patrons had been done eating for for at least an hour or longer but were not asked to give up their table. This is the 3rd bad experience I have had at the Office Tavern. I kept telling myself it was ok but they don’t have enough help and I work to hard for my money to spend it on an unenjoyable evening. Doesn’t really matter how good the food is. Never going back!
Outstanding steak!. OK. This place would probably be relegated to the dive category on triple D, but you don’t go there for the ambience. The food is what brought my husband and me to the Office on a Friday night . . .steak night. On Mondays and Fridays, starting at 5 p.m., the Office has some of the best steak in town. The helpings are large enough to share, which we did. The filet was juicy, tender, and had a wonderful crust on it. So delicious! The baked potato was huge and the house salad would put any of the fancier places to shame. The salad included a large variety of vegetables, an egg and huge croutons as well as a nice variety of dressing choices. The service was prompt and attentive. On the down side, they don’t do refills on any beverages and, if you are going on steak night, get there early. If you do, you won’t be disappointed.
