A rare find.. This gem off the beaten path of local eatier is the Southtown Inn, on old Decatur Rd a mile north of Tillman in southeast Fort Wayne. An old roadhouse of sorts that time forgot but has a very loyal And what attracts them is the authentic Macedeonian tavern food. Succulant and spicy Macedonian Burger is must have…locally sourced pork sausage and owenr Bill Evans fathers secret spice recipe combine for an amazing sandwich. Reminds me of the lukasi sausage my grandmather would make..spicy, porky, delicious.. The real deal kinda stuff. Patties an be had for $2.50 each for your home grill. Tuesday is $1 coney day, so I opted for coney and was not disappointed. Steamed bun with an all beef dog dressed in mustard, Bill’s coney sauce, and fresh onions. Very tasty and satisfying. I could eat more! I recommend one start the experience at the bar. Start with an appetizer of pickled eggs and hot eggs…delicious with the pickeled cabbage. Great with an ice cold coors light. The ladies enjoyed the Nachos, served 12 to an order, each handmade on a tortilla chip. Served with a not so hot but fresh salsa. All in all, a great place to enjoy an ethnic meal and support a loal eatery. Oh, and be sure to ask about the lamb call!
