Nice looking place, friendly service, very good beer/drink selection. However, the food was mediocre. Buffalo chicken appetizer had good flavor but was swimming in a pool of orange grease, my burger was average at best, and the macho nacho platter was just one off, missing ssomething almost. Would go back for drinks, MAYBE an appetizer, thats about it.
Good food, huge menu, less than spectacular service.
Offensive menu. I had heard that Scottys was a fun restaurant and that the food was good. We entered and on the black board at the check in was written twice mo-fo in describing featured selections. I thought, no way, they dont mean what I think they mean. We were seated and then looking over the menu, were offended at seeing those words at least 11 more times throughout the menu. I asked the waitress if indeed it meant what I thought it meant, and she was evasive at best. Its my opinion that common decency and class has to be considered in dealing with the public. Id like to say that Scottys has good food but I cant support a business which ignores decency for the sake of being trendy, college town or not.
One time ruined it forever. I always liked Scotty’s until the last time we went which was the last time. We were seated immediately and from then on, everything went down hill. Our waiter talked to the table next to us forever. After way too long, someone else came over and greeted us and got our drinks. She had to come back to ask what I wanted because she had forgotten. After another long wait our actual server came over and took our order and never apologized for our very long wait. Eventually a third person brought us our food. It was mediocre. The chicken was overcooked but other than that it was just ok. Our server came back once to get us drinks which someone else brought to us. When the bill came he didn’t charge us for our second round of drinks. At first we thought it was to make up for the poor service but he quickly came back to give us a corrected bill that had the drinks on it. Needless to say we left unhappy and will not be returning. The server didn’t do anything for us except take our order. Had we left a tip, I would have given it to the other people who actually helped us. Poor service= not returning.
Scotty’s Brewhouse Sucks. Like for real they treat their employees really badly. The rest of the franchise is great except for this one location. Go to ANY of the campus bars instead, because you willl get similar food at MUCH better prices.
Great food and drinks. Friendly wait staff.
Decadent, creative bar eats. Pork tenderloin sandwich was pounded thin (like it is supposed to be) and was super crispy on an equally tasty bun. Everyone at my table was happy with their food.
