A bit on the expensive side for a small place to eat. However,this is one of the cleanest places to eat and serves the most authentic Indian food in a 1 mile radius around the campus. The butter chicken is the. Favorite of the desis as well as locals! Must definitely try!
I am really disappointed with my experience at Shaukin. Anand and I had been here sometime last year and had absolutely loved it. Hence we didn’t want to miss out on some good food this time around and revisited the place. Sadly, wasn’t as great as the first time. The management has changed and it just didn’t match our expectations.We came here on a Thursday evening, the place wasn’t very crowded. We browsed through the menu and ordered:Onion Chilli Uttappam (I expected chopped green chillies on here, but they had jalapeos! Jalapeos don’t usually go in uttappams, not the ones I have had at least.)Gobi Manchurian (This neither looked nor tasted anything like it is supposed to. It wasn’t bad, wasn’t the best either.)Veg Combo Meal (This was better in comparison to our other orders. It had rice, naan, paneer gravy, daal, papad, gulab jamun. Naan was really chewy.)Mango Lassi (This was good.)It is a basic setup with the essentials. The portions didn’t match the prices we paid. It is overpriced for the food they serve. I had really wished more from this place. I may not stop here anytime soon.

Excessively expensive, but simply the best place for Indian food on campus. Almost tastes like back home. If they could start delivering, it would be even better.
