Best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. Great food, good service, great atmosphere. All around great. Highly recommend.
Favorite Thai. Thai Essence provides excellent Thai. Consistent quality and very competent staff keep me coming back. Wish they would make more of their basil rolls. Seems that every time I attempt to order them, they are out. Pad Ma Kuer is my favorite. Mango-Cashew Nut Fried Rice with shrimp is excellent and very plentiful.
Poor Labeling/Food Allergen. Diner beware. If you are vegetarian, be very careful. We learned there was chicken stock in the noodles and shrimp in vegetarian soup (per our waitress). Worse, after explaining my severe food allergy to seafood, I was directed to a couple of choices, one of which I picked. After a couple of bites, of my veggie/rice dish she returned to our table to note there was oyster sauce in the sauce (again, not vegetarian). I had to force expel the food I had eaten, grab epi and panic while I waited to see how severe my reaction would be. My kids were horrified. It was a very long day as my body fought off the reaction. I hope they use this as an opporunity to educate their staff and use full disclosure on the menu. I’d be very careful here if you have allergies or are vegetarian.
Love the fried rice.. We’ve eaten here several times. My favorite dish is the Fried Rice with Mango & Cashews. I’ve tried some of the other dishes, but was disappointed. Our service could have been better, we felt like we were being ignored and had to catch the waitress for service. I don’t think Laf/W Laf has a great Thai restaurant, but I would say this is the best we have in town.
Not TOO bad, certainly worthy or re-visits. First off I will say that the Pad Thai, might be one of the worse dishes I’ve eaten there, I’ve had better in Detroit, and Kalamazoo – little hole in the wall places with 13 chairs 4 tables nothing matching. BUT, I love the yellow curry chicken, it is not QUITE like the place I love in Detroit, but I would go and get this again, the meat skewers are outstanding, has a real grilled with fire taste. I would never order Pad Thai again, but I would certainly re-visit again, and plan to very soon.
My first time having Thai food I heard Thai Essence was the best in town. I got the green curry chicken and it was amazing! I enjoyed every bite! The only thing I didn’t like was the price I paid didn’t match the price listed on here.
The Curry is Amazing. I am addicted to this restaurant…which means a lot because I’m very picky. All the curries are good but I especially like the Green Curry with extra spice on the side.
