I’m guessing a lot has changed in the Ames +39 since the 2014 reviews. Apparently, they have really upped their game.I went there for lunch for the first time with my husband today. The service was prompt, staff courteous, and the dcor was very clean and sleek. My husband commented that the restaurant would be a better dinner option and felt we were under dressed for a lunch occasion. The server came to us very quickly with water and bread that was very soft with a slight crunch to the crust. My husband ordered a sausage pizza. It was made with fresh ingredients and could have easily fed both of us. I order the Linguini del Mara (seafood linguini) with a Tomato bisque soup. It was excellent! The pasta was well cooked and had a nice lightly flavored oil, not dry at all. The seafood (calamari, shrimp, and a fish) was cooked well and it was all complimented by fresh arugula. Overall and excellent meal to which I would recommend to anyone. I particularlyliked the fresh ingredients and how light the meal was for being a pastadish.Cost forthe twodisheswas about $31 before tip and we were in and out in 25 minutes. I highly recommend you give this restaurant another shot if you were deterred at first.
