A good find!. I spent a lot of time in Ames while I was in college and never knew this place existed until my girlfriend wanted to go there after a football game this past season. Wow, a good find! I got the banger boxty and it was delicious! Even though they were busy because of the football game, the service was top notch and our server, Steph, was really on top of things even though she was busy with other tables.

Surprisingly delightful. Thumbs up reviews for the fish and chips, chicken in the heather, nutty walleye, and the Dublin Bay burger. This so rocks!

Great food and great service! Lovely menu options at great prices. Will definitely return!

Worth a visit… again and again and again. One of our favorites in town. Dublin Bay is tasty and the service is wonderful. Love their corned beef boxty and their corned beef cabbage. Also… Woodchuck on tap. Amazing. As another reviewer said, if you’re not in the mood for Irish food don’t come here. If you want generic American flavors and food, there’s a Village Inn in town for you ;0)

Black & Tan Onion Rings. They have black & tan battered onion rings that are my absolute favorite onion rings I’ve ever eaten …. anywhere!

Always worth the trip. I always try and have a meal here anytime I’m back in ames visiting my alma mater. I suppose I’m a little biased as I worked here for a summer during undergrad, but the food is about as Irish and as good as it gets. Granted the fish and chips isn’t you’d be used to, but mahi mahi is a great choice, I was a little disappointed the last time I came in though and it wasn’t cut into triangles like it used to be. The restaurant corns their own beef, makes their own soup, boxty, has actual unique specials, and isn’t afraid to use plenty of spice. Overall a great experience.
