I guess if you’re into that type of thing. Too much cheese unless you’re trying to OD on the stuff. Overall pretty average pizza.
Probably the best in Ames. Since Old George closed his doors this is probably the next best. I believe this pizza place is quite overated but still very good. I am a thin crust pizza lover so naturally not my favorite but this is a a wonderful thick crust which has tons of cheese for toppings. Put a little honey on the crust and its even better. 8.0 from this guy.
Great Za. People keep saying that the crust was undercooked. I have been to GPS&D for 30 years and have NEVER had an undercooked pizza or crust. The cheese is top shelf along with the ingredients and there is always an abundance of them. It is not cheap and understandably so…you get ~ an 8 lb pizza! I think that people that complain about the crust are looking for a different style of pizza when they go to GPS&D. My kids love eating their crust with the honey. Next time, try the oat crust…it is amazing. I would also suggest trying the Buffalo!
Favorites. I have been going to great plains since i was little after isu games and it is so amazing. I havent been back in years but i crave it all the time!
By far the worst pizza I have ever had, and believe me, iv’e tasted some pretty crappy pizza. The thick crust is terrible. Didn’t try the thin but I bet it’s just as bad. The dough was so dense and hard. Ate two pieces and now the rest is in the hotel wastebasket.
Top quality ingredents awesome crust with honey.
Great pizza. The best pizza in Ames. Not only great tasting, but also very filling. I’m not sure if you call it Chicago Style or just Great Plains style or what, but I do know that it is awesome.
