Big menu, big flavors. They have a pretty huge menu, and your food gets to you very fast. Angry chicken is my standby at this joint. They give you quite a bit of food for the price you pay. Little Taipei also has some authentic entrees that aren’t seen very often at other Chinese restaurants, so this is the place to go if you’re feeling a little adventurous.
Surprisingly good Chinese food in a small town
Little Taipei is always a favorite of mine when in Ames. Very high quality Chinese food and extremely low priced. At my last visit I ventured to the hand written special menu with crispy beef, and was enjoyed my meal a lot. The only thing I could find wrong with the food was how bad I felt about not being able to finish the giant portion. The overall ambiance is very welcome, and the service is extremely fast and personable. I would definitely recommend this for people of any age, and I wouldn’t seek anything like this, because after Little Taipei, I can’t make myself eat any other Chinese food.
I went to Little Taipei for dinner EVERY Sunday for the five years I was a student. I’ve travelled extensively in eastern China, so am familiar with authentic Chinese food, and Little Taipei is easily the best in Ames. It’s one of the very few Chinese places I look forward to eating at in the Midwest. Even with all the great places to eat in Ames, I always make sure to save one meal for Little Taipei. Green beans with chicken, extra spicy!
Love It. If you want simply good Chinese food Little Taipei delivers. This is the first Chinese food I ever had when coming to college and the only that I will eat. They moved to Chamberlain street from Welch Ave, but the food is still really good. I swear the same people have been working there for 13 years too. Always super nice too! It’s just darn good!!!!
Ordered take out. Reasonably priced. Pretty tasty stuff, I will go again!
