The food is amazing here! I love everything I’ve had here!! Especially the Siamese crab delight!
Love love love Thai kitchen. We have to eat here at least once every time we come back.
Great thai food! Inside is not much to look at but the food is awesome. Nice people and tastey food. What else do you need?
Great Thai Food. Like most eateries near the campus, Thai Kitchen isn’t much to look at, and the noise of people walking in the apartment above might be distracting for some, but the food is very good and undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in town. Don’t expect great atmosphere. This a little family run place where you order at the counter and you are given a number for a server to find you to deliver your food. The menu is extensive, the food is very good and authentically Thai. Recommended.
This is my favorite restaurant in Ames. I highly recommend the spicy chicken and pad Thai.
Super food & people. The best, the best, the best! The one restaurant in the Ames area that my kids MUST go to when they come home. (TK’s gift certificates have been used many a time as stocking stuffers.)Great food. The best wontons EVER. Too many wonderful items to mention them all. Some of the best: Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay (with peanut sauce & cucumber sauce), Stuffed Golden Wings, Massamun Curry, Pad See Eil, Pad Thai, Rama Platter, & Thai Braised Chicken. I don’t eat shellfish, but those with me have loved the shrimp dishes they have tried. The couple who own the place are lovely as well. One couldn’t ask for better service. This is the kind of place where they remember you & ask about those of the family who aren’t with you each time you return. As noted in another review, the only drawback is the cash-only policy. This requires one to plan ahead!
You’d never know from the outside. This is an unassuming place in the Campustown area (as most are), but really this is even more unassuming than most unassuming places. If you didn’t know it was good, I’d bet money most would never think to try it. Upon entering, the place looks like a converted kitchen out of someone’s house. The decor is very no-frills, but you can tell by the numerous patrons enjoying their food that they are serving up a good meal. Despite it’s hole-in-the-wall appearance, Thai Kitchen holds its own against other Thai places (including The Spice, considered by many, myself included, to be a better alternative in Ames). The service is quick and without fanfare. They don’t take credit cards here.. strictly cash (a pity). Perfect for lunch.
