  Delicious non-chain sandwich shop!. Small, close to campus shop w/ tasty food. Prices are higher than normal, but you get what you pay for. Great for a quick lunch, off the beaten path.

  Great place! Love the bread and they dont cheap on the meat or veggies. Dont bother with scrubway or the others.

  Vegan options!. This is by far the best vegetarian and vegan option in town with multiple options. They do a great job with a few different tofu options and some fun mixes. Everything is made to order at the counter, so it isn’t super fast food, but is worth the short wait in line. Great people. Very happy to accommodate.

  Hidden Gem. Located in a residential area the deli is an experience. I used to live a block away and ate there all the time in college. It’s locally owned and serves amazing sandwiches, soups, and some desserts. Amazingly well done interior that Frank Lloyd Wright would greatly approve. This is my favorite restaurant in Ames and I will drive across town for half of my lunch break just for a grilled cheese and chili (with corn). Yum! If you hate monster subs, as I do, you will love West Street Deli.

  Best Place in Ames for Sammies. Really good, really cheap. Super big sandwiches. Love the egg salad. They also serve a small selection of soups.
