CJ’s bagels rock. They are so soft and full of flavor. I really like the bagel bites with a splash of frosting on top. Bagels are easy to pick up on the fly or dine in with a cup of flavored coffee. If you decide to order a bagel sandwich, plan to wait. There is no such thing as pick up on the fly when you want a sandwich. My recommendation is plan to stay, sit and chat over your coffee. Then a great tasting sandwich arrives several minutes later. CJ’s is awesome and a favorite every time we visit Iowa.
I love CJ’s! I would definitely agree that the employees could share a little more compassion for the customers, but despite that, it’s great! Good breakfast foods.
Yummy! You have to wait awhile to get your food but it’s worth it.
Not impressed. I stopped in on a Saturday morning for some bagel bites I’d been hearing about. The girls working the counter were unfriendly and very distracted. The bites are small & have hardly any frosting on them. They were supposedly fresh from the back but tasted dry and stale. My other complaint is they aren’t open on Sundays. I’d rather see Ankeny get a Bruegger’s or Einstein’s bagel shop.
Fresh and lively. This place is always busy but service is fast. The bagels are made fresh.Lots of light in the dining area and adequate seating.With the numbers of women diners at CJ’s, I imagine it could be a great place for a guy to find a date 🙂
Great Bagels. The bagels and cream cheese are awesome. I don’t like their coffee vendor though so I prefer Bruegger’s.
EXECELLENT!. Fast, friendly service. Wonderful bagel sandwiches. Delicious bread bowls with a variety of soup choices. The only thing that would make them better is if they delivered!!
