Love local beers. And Ankeny is dying for s local brew pub. However, this place is not going to last long. The atmosphere is good, the beer is not.
Great beer and even better atmosphere! Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend checking out one of the nights they have live music. Check their Facebook page for schedule.
Craft Brewery with Great Flavors – Food is Delivered In. I love this place. It’s a converted fire house. The large truck bays now hold mash kilns and distilleries. A bar has been established with the brewery in the background. Tables, couches and bars have been added to create gathering area to try their craft beers. In back is an open area with chaise lounges, tables and a large bean bag toss.The beers are very good. I like that fact that they have a flight of beers to let you taste several kinds. Then you can go back and order an 8, 12 or 16 oz glass of your favorite. I went back for a glass of the stout. Know that they have no food here beside a bag of chips. They have local restaurants that will deliver food to this location. You can order and pay at the bar and about 30 minutes later the food will be delivered.
CONFUSED. I’m confused as to why Firetrucker Brewery is even on this restaurant site. This is a brewery who brings in food from other restaurants. From their website:May, 7 // LEANING TOWER PIZZA AT FIRETRUCKER!May, 8 // OKOBOJI GRILL – DELIVERED IN!I’m sure its a good brew pub, but since they do not create their own food, it is appropriate to include them here????
