Stopping through town. Service was extremely fast and friendly. Food was fresh. My son loved his sesame chicken. Prices are cheap for portion size. As others mentioned not a ton of spice. That being said I would definitely go back.
Good food; service uneven. Their soup os so-so, but main dishes are good. Their service is uneven, but it is Asian fast-food. When I’ve asked for substitutions, sometimes they are agreeable and other times not.NOTE: Take out does not include eating utensils or napkins. I asked for the crab ragoon to be left out, but they included it anyway. Good thing I don’t have a shellfish allergy or the meal would have been lost.
The reason why this place has 90% approval rating is the food! Best chinese in Ankeny! Try the House Pho. Spice it up. Killer taste.
Cabbage in chicken fried rice. Just got chicken fried rice take out from Lucky Bamboo.As I was eating it I kept tasting cabbage. I hate cabbage.I found a couple pieces of cabbage and thought afew stray pieces of cabbage found tbeir way into my chicken fried rice.I kept eating and more cabbage. YUCK! As I now examine my order moreclosely, it is filled with cabbage, and is lacking peas and carrots. They must have run short of ingredients and thought cabbage was a goodsubstitute. The dish I ordered does not normally have any cabbage in it.Lucky Bamboo I won’t be back. I paid for chicken fried rice, you served mecabbage.
My go to. Fast service, fair prices, friendly service. What more could you want? As everyone else talks about, they only take cash but well worth it! Beef and pea pods is very good.
Decent food, fast service, clean and well-maintained. My wife and I like their Mongolian Beef. I’ve had a few other items, and they were decent as well. Not out of this world, and not as good as our prior go-to Chinese/Thai place in Ankeny – Siam. Unfortunately, Siam closed, so I think this place it best left in Ankeny now.The Good:- food is above par- service is very quick- prices are reasonableThe Bad:- only take cash- limited options for take out. Haven’t got good family portion options.- younger owner/worker who was at register a lot was kind of pompous. It really made me not want to return or give him any of my money. I’ve not seen him in my last several visits, though, and the new guys seem very friendly.
