Hit and miss. Had good service a couple times when they first opened. since then always crappy..bar or dining, sat for 10 minutes waiting for service for lunch buffet and had to leave . Hair under pizza crust last time. comp for late appetizers usually but appetizers are usually late. this place makes me mad and I will give them another chance and am disappointing every time. I do like the pizza though and the fish and chips are my wifes favorite
All in all, it’s pretty crappy.. If the servers paid more attention to the customers rather than each other and if the manager/server/whoever that checks with diners to see if all was okay actually paid attention to what was said, maybe we could overlook the really crappy food. But they don’t so we can’t. We even responded to a questionnaire but never heard back. Of course they offered a free appetizer for our efforts….and even being free, no appetizer there is worth it.
Will never be back. I’ve taken a chance on this place a couple times. The service is always horrible. The food isn’t all that great either. Most of the stuff tastes like it was taken from a frozen state, put in a deep fat frier and served to you. You could get the same out of your local grocery store freezer section.Only go here if you wish to be frustrated by the incompetent staff. You want Chicago style pizza in Ankeny? You go to the Wig and Pen….but order ahead. 😉
Over done. Everything about this place is just a tad overdone, and the pizza is nothing special. Making bad pizza bigger, doesn’t make it better, its just bigger and still isn’t very good.
Good Food, Poor Service. You know what you’re in for the minute you step in the door. Three greeters/servers stand behind the reservation stand, chatting with each other, neither greeting nor serving. I’ve learned to ignore them back, head into the bar and claim my own table. Once I flag down a server in the bar, we’re off and running for a night of tasty pizza and good beer. Heads up – if you order a glass of wine expecting the house pour, you’ll end up with a glass of the most expensive wine they have. Be specific if you want the house wine or they will stick you with the expensive stuff.
Bad Service. I have been here 5 times & each time sat @ the Bar~ And Each time the service has been Awful. If going there I suggest setting @ a table w/ a server~
Service sucks!!!!!!! Food is great, if the wait staff will stop talking with each other long enough to bring it to you.
