CJ’s Expanded. Topped Doughnuts is really inside CJ’s. They have created a little area on the left and set up a donut display case. During peak times an employee will be staffed at the donut desk. In less busy times when the selection is very limited, the employees at the bagel counter will run over and cover it. The donuts were fine. We enjoyed them. It’s hard to mess up a donut, so this extra business does compliment CJ’s.
Hey people this is a bakery and they make the stuff from scratch so yeah they run out. If you want a place with a million donuts go to hyvee and have their mass produced ones. I usually bring the donuts into the office and I am the most popular person at work that day! They have different flavors than any other donut places I’ve been to but also have the regular donuts too. I have enjoyed every flavor I’ve tried from here. If you are picky about the flavors you want go early or order them ahead.
Best donuts, period! The red velvet cake and the PB&J donuts are always a hit. They have really off hours (not open all weekdays, etc.) and it’s pretty tough to just stop in and have your choice of donuts – most are already gone for preorders or early morning warriors – so you have to be diligent or just plain lucky to find any left over after the morning rush. Would love to see this place expand its days/hours and keep more on hand – thu are to die for’

Go Early. It doesn’t matter how early you go, they will be out of almost everything you want when you get there. They open at 6am but I haven’t gotten there when they opened but by 7am they are pretty low and by 8 it’s just meager left overs. So if you know you want something specific, try to go when they open.
Topped Doughnuts is my hero. In a city that is lacking doughnut shops, I find that a thousand could be opened and this would still be the best. The atmosphere is that of a friendly local business with great people. As for the doughnuts themselves they are made from scratch and really really REALLY good. The owner is awesome and even takes suggestions for new doughnut ideas. I recommend everyone try this place at least 200 times. Keep places like this open they are true gems in a country that is ran by boring chain restaurants.
Go to Topped Doughnuts for a different, delicious doughnut experience! These are not donuts – they are DOUGHnuts with creative and tasty toppings. Love ’em!
