Chicken Marsala. The dish I received was not like any recipe of chicken Marsala I’ve ever had before. I even asked the waitress if I got the correct order. It had a rather heavy tomato sauce over the chicken and mushrooms…. Not bad…not great…not what I expected. The onion rings were fantastic!

When we first moved to Ankeny this was one of the first places we went. We had a great time. Started the evening with a bottle of wine. (I don’t drink wine, but entertained the misses. The wine was wine… She liked it, but I can’t give accurate feedback on anything having to do with wine.) We were given a bread basket with garlicky bread balls, and some sort of toasted bread, both were fresh and tasted great. I don’t recall the name of the dish I had but it was a chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms and various cheeses. The chicken was then topped with a red sauce. My lady got a salad, she enjoyed it and has ordered it each time we have returned. The service has always been exceptional for us. Although, we always request the same server. I don’t remember his name but I’d guess he’s late 20’s early 30’s. The guy works non-stop… (If I get a chance I’ll update the post with the server’s name.)My lady and I really enjoy this place and will return!
Metal pieces in my food. First time there for lunch. found what looked to be like a rivet in my food. no explanation from staff and never apologized. this was about a year ago or so but never going back
Probably wouldn’t go again. The husband and I went there tonight because we like Mediterranean food and thought we would give it a shot. We ordered an array of Greek dishes, but nothing was past good and somethings weren’t past okay. They took our drink order, which the waitress got wrong, but promptly just brought us the right thing. They brought out some garlic knots and two pieces of garlic toast. The knots were nice and flavorful and soft. The toast was flavorless and soggy. We got the the stuffed grape leaves, which were okay. They were served hot which I had never had before. It came with a good lemon sauce. We also got the saganaki (flaming skillet cheese). The show of it was nice, but the cheese was just okay. It had the smokey flavor but none of the cheese was melted. It was a disappointment. The husband got a side salad with blue cheese dressing that he didn’t eat because the lettuce (iceberg) was yellow and the dressing flavorless. For entrees we got the greek salad and the greek trio. The salad was a pretty typical greek salad, but nothing special. The greek dressing that came with it was good though. The greek trio had pita (fine), gyro meat (better is easy to come by), chicken (overcooked and bland), tzatiki (quite nice), spanikopita (could only pick out the spinach and only because I love spinach) a fried mash potato (meh), and a little thing of cooked zucchini and and tomato. Lastly, despite that fact that we didn’t actually enjoy the meal, we risked ordering baklava (because baklava is worth the risk, in case it’s awesome). It was not awesome. The top wasn’t syrupy or crispy. It was chewy and impossible to cut into. It had a large nut filling but no nut flavor, or much of any flavor really. The place looked pretty and was cozy, and it possible greek food just isn’t their thing.
This place is great. They have wonderful pasta, in fact there gnocchi is to die for. Their complementary bread is great. Nice atmosphere. Would certainly recommend for a date.
One of the best lunch buffets in town. Their pizza is money and their sirloin tips are luscious. All for $7!
