Burgers were very good, especially the blueberry. While the chips with feta and basil were good, I would recommend you go straight for the sweet potato fries with balsamic.
Great atmosphere! The cornmeal chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes were perfect and the gluten free pizza was to die for. Our waitress Sherri provided excellent service. I will be back.
Food fair. Service was less than perfect. We had heard of Bata’s and heard the food was good. My friend had salmon, I had chicken breast. The chicken and salmon were both good. We both asked to substitute salad for the vegetables as we don’t like some of the mix. I was supposed to get mashed potatoes with my chicken. I got fried chicken on cold mixed vegetables. I asked about this. I was bought a plate and had to get my chicken off the plate of cold vegetables and on to a clean plate. huh? Then I got a scoop of mashed potatoes with no gravy, sauce or butter. I about choked on them as they were very dry. I thought there was supposed to be some kind of sauce on this dish. We did have a good drink and appetizer. Our tab was around 70 dollars and we tipped 15. When we were ready to leave, my friend went to the restroom. I stood up and waited standing as I was tired from driving. The greeter came over and asked me what I was doing. HUH?? He asked if I wanted to eat. I told him I already had and that was the table I sat at. I was insulted. I am from Cedar Falls. I do go to the corridor often and eat there often. It may be a while before I try Bata’s
Anniversay dinner. The food was unique and over all tasted good. It would of tasted really good if it was warm. The service on a Saturday night was very poor. After being seated we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. Our server asked us if we were ready for dessert before we even received our meal.
The interior of Bata’s is fun and inviting for a Cedar Rapids restaurant, it was extremely loud however, the acoustics aren’t good. The service was very good, and we ordered the pork ribs and the beef tenderloin. The pork was amazing, the meat was tender and had great taste, and the side of potatoes was perfect. The tenderloin however was disappointing in all aspects. It was ordered medium rare, but came out very raw, but most disappointing of all was the bed of slightly warmed up frozen veggies. We will be back to try it again, hopefully with better results.
My new favorite burger joint! The house made chips topped with feta & basil were inspired! The Blueberry burger with goat cheese and GF bun, divine. Top that with GF pizza and I’m forever hooked!
Fun location and interesting food. I ate here for dinner on a Saturday at 5. We are able to get right it but it was pretty full. It is a very nice atmosphere and is in a great location near the New Bo market. We had the sweet potato fries and Thai meatballs. Both were good portions and tasted great. We also had two flatbread pizzas. Those tasted ok but nothing special. Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely return for appetizers and may try an entre next time.
