*mouthgasm*. In being a foodie who is also well traveled I would like to think I have good taste. I had been looking forward to trying a Bobbie at Capriotti’s for some time now and finally was able to make it over there this evening. It was well worth the wait, although I did not even try the bobbie. Upon arriving i could not help but want something, anything, that I could have slathered in fried onions and hot peppers. This of course led me to the capistrami. UNBELIEVABLE. The ONLY sandwich in par here or better in any way that I have ever had was at Dinic’s in Philly. This is a stand out spot for cedar rapids for sure and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. I must warn…the small is a LARGE sandwich so unless you are starving I would suggest starting there, or just go for it- it is worth an over full stomach any day.
Awesome sandwiches. Been three times and loved it. Had the capistrami, grilled Italian, and italian sausage. I had the small sandwichs and thought they had screwed up and given me the large. The capistrami is hot pastrami with coleslaw that was different than any other sandwich I’ve had in town. I heard about it from people at work who were having it delivered everyday. They were absolutely right. I brought menus to work and made new converts. Check out there menu online. The descriptions fit. Pretty quick but the grilled Italian takes a bit longer.
