Fast, clean, fresh, reasonable price. A superb value.
Family-operated Viet resto, good service. Viet restaurants across North American have a relatively standard menu: soup (pho), rice with grilled meats or vermicelli. In Cedar Rapid, Phong Lan did nothing to dispel that pattern. The cooking was competent, and the prices are low. The restaurant is more fun on the interior than the blocky exterior would suggest. There’s lots of space for large groups, and the ones that were there around 6 p.m. were having a good time. My friend and I were entertained by the daughter (8 years old?) who was spinning around dancing with an umbrella. There’s a wall of photographs of her — we guess it’s a single-child family — behind the cash register. Coming to Cedar Rapids, I was surprised to have the option of choosing a Viet restaurant. We really didn’t want to have the corn-fed beef native to Iowa that night. daviding.com
Love it!. Love this place! Very nice and the pho and spring rolls are delicious! I always stop here when I’m in the area.
Good pho and iced coffee!
I visited Phong Lan for dinner this evening. Had the goi cuon and seafood pho. Both were very good. The restaurant is clean and the service fast & friendly. I would reccomend this place.
Decent… It was very authentic and delicous. I do miss my previous local Vietnamese Restaurant in Florida though. I miss Mi Wonton. All in all though, definately good enoguh to go back.
If you like Pho, you’ll find it here. Try 4.1, although the Beef tendon has never turned up on my soup which is ok by me.
