I’ve been there for lunch and fell in love with their club sandwich. I figured the breakfast would be great too. Met my parents for breakfast and found out I could order anything on the menu. there was a mix up with the coffee bc our serve was in the restroom when we arrived butt they took care of it. I got the breakfast quesadilla and it was excellent! Everyone’s food was great and I will go back for breakfast again.
Excellent Lunch. I’ve been going over to Red’s this summer for carryout sandwiches. I call the order in, they always have it done quickly, the service is always friendly, and the food is great. I couldn’t ask for better.
Waited 25 minutes for the worst eggs and bacon ever.. It tasted like it was cooked on a grill that has never been cleaned. Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had.
We showed up in the middle of rush hour lunch and got a seat right by the door. It was the only seat available as all the seats in the house were taken. Our server was a real gem and got our drinks immediately. We both ordered Phillies and fell in love with their delicious juicy taste. The white chicken chili was decent and the cheese bacon fries were average. Overall the service was great and the food was more than okay. If I’m in the area I may come again.
Philly sandwich & burger. I had the Philly steak sandwich and my brother had the reds burger. They were both very good. My sandwich was the best Philly I’ve had in town. Service was par for bar / restaurant. Reds ale was good on tap. Definiley go again.
Good / Bad. I’ve been to this place several times, and I kind of love it and really hate it. Once they overcharged me because I was drunk. That’s some very non-sexy behavior. Unless Cedar Rapids has the mf’r of all sales taxes, they clearly ripped me off. Food was decent, not sexy. Another time, the waiter (who’s also a drag queen???) flirted with me, which was fine – except for he had food stuck in his teeth, not sexy! We went in for happy hour and the girl ‘Jess’ would not stop talking, but she totally hooked us up with free drinks and that made up for it. We went in on a Saturday night and it was packed, very sexy.
Deep Sigh …. Food: BBQ Cheddar Burger w/ White ChiliI work in downtown Cedar Rapids and love to see restaurants and other businesses moving to the area since the devastating flood of 2008. I really REALLY want to like each of these establishments. I always come in with a positive attitude and a sense of hopefulness because I want to see them succeed for the betterment of the community.Unfortunately I was not impressed with Red’s Public House. The waiter was that polite and didn’t really offer refills of water. I was not asked how I’d like the burger prepared so I can only assume that they are all made cooked and served cold (mine was cold). The interior of the building was freezing, so they may want to look into verifying that the furnace is properly working.My favorite part of the meal was the white chili. But not even that could compensate for the lackluster burger and terrible service. I may come back for a brew after work, but won’t likely be in again for lunch.Food: 3/10Service: 3/10
