Bad restaurant. The owner’s son is there a lot and is very rude. He shows up in ripped clothes and a ball cap and flies from table to table appearing to be busy. He has zero customer service skills and thinks his off the cuff comments are funny, when they are actually insulting. This guy is not helping the business. Will be glad when the new Cork and Fork opens!

My husband and I went here for St. Patrick’s Day…why? It was close and not crowded. I got the corned beef and cabbage. It was horrible. Seemed to be canned potatoes and the corned beef was covered in this thick, gummy mustard gravy. The whole menu needs a revamp if he wants to survive being a dinner joint/bar. I would like to see it do well as it’s close by and we don’t have a lot of options near by. As a professional chef myself I would love to rewrite the menu for him! Not to mention the service needs major help…
The golden egg is gone, replaced by this place. I don’t know what to say about this place. As a dinner is really bad. As a bar, forget about it. Don’t confuse this with the Vernon Inn which is a legitimate and good restaurant. This place can’t last too much longer. Posted April 1, 2012. I have been there twice. Don’t ask why I went back. I am a masochist. Never again until there is a new sign on the door.
Great place to eat. I have eaten here often and always enjoy my experience. Food is very good. Breakfast ,lunch , and dinner. Specials are great. Prices are very reasonable. Great family restaurant with a bright homey atmosphere. Employees serve the food the wqay they would want it served to them when they are eating out. YOU CAN’T GO WRONG HERE !!
Great food, at a Great price!. I have to say I was very pleased with the food and service at the Golden egg. My two year old son was very cranky when we had entered the Golden Egg, the server was quick to calm him down, and make him smile. The food was very good, my son wanted pancakes, and I was ready for a beer and shrimp, luckley they have it all! I recomend the Golden Egg to anyone and everyone.
The Golden Egg. I think the Golden Egg has come along way since new management took over. For those of us who are regulars you always find your beverage of choice at your favorite booth or table when you walk in to the establishment, and you’re greeted with a smile and by your name. Quantity and quality are always put first, so you defiantly get what you pay for, not to mention the variety of specials they run always keeps new and old critics coming in.
