Do not order prime rib. I ordered the prime rib Medium. It came Medium rare and was cold. I asked them to warm it up. It ended up on a different plate (it was obvious) and was now well done (I think a different piece of prime rib) but was no warmer and it certainly was not as tender as I expect and have experienced with other restaurants. In my opinion do not order the prime rib
Great Gluten Free Meal and Service. My wife and I had a terrific dinner experience at the Iowa River Power Co (IRPC) restaurant. As a diner with Celiac disease (strict gluten free diet), going out is often very difficult. While many restaurants try to offer gluten free food, they often do not understand the issue of unintentional cross contamination. Such was not the case at IRPC!When we were seated at our table, I explained to our server that I could not have any gluten. She immediately understood and asked if it was a personal choice or if I had Celiac Disease. Right after I said Celiac, she knew what to do. The restaurant manager, Denise, was brought over to our table and went through the menu to explain all of my options. She even went as far as to ask if I needed my plates sterilized in a heater! I have never been asked that when I went out, and although I did not take her up on the sterilization, I was amazed at the generous and accommodating service! All evening, Denise brought my food to our table to minimize the risk of cross contamination from a server. Based upon how I feel the next morning, I am sure that the kitchen also did a wonderful job preparing my food as well.Suffice it to say, my wife and I had a great evening. The food was delicious (I had the pork chop and my wife had the scallops), the prices were very fair, and the service was impeccable. We will for sure return. One bit of advice for other Celiacs, I asked Denise how I could make life easier for IRPC in the future in an effort to always have such a great experience. She recommended I always make a reservation and mention my restrictions when I called. That way they can schedule for her or another manager to automatically make sure they serve our table.
